Chen Mingsong, general manager of Guiping Hongxin Shipbuilding Repair Co., recently spoke confidently to Guangxi Radio News 910 reporters at the factory located at the old site of the Guiping Sugar Factory. It is reported that Guiping Hongxin Shipbuilding Repair Company is the largest private shipyard in the Guigang area, with three factory areas located in Xunwang Township, Guiping City, the old site of the Guiping Sugar Factory, and Liulan Village, Mengxu Town, Guiping City, totaling 285 ship slips.

At the shipbuilding base in Liulan Village, reporters saw rows of ship hulls under construction "lying flat" on the ground, with workers bustling back and forth, electric welding sparks flashing continuously, very dazzling, and the whole scene was spectacular. The base has completely bid farewell to traditional ship repair processes and extensive management models, using modern shipbuilding models as benchmarks, dividing the factory area into hull area, outfitting area, painting area, power facilities area, administrative management area, and living facilities area, achieving integration of design, production, and management. Here, ships ranging from 2000 to 6000 tons can be built. Currently, there are steel coil leveling workshops, plasma cutting workshops, laser edge planing workshops, etc., in operation, and the spraying and section workshops are under construction, expected to be put into use by the end of this year.

Guiping's shipbuilding industry has a history of over 100 years, and after years of development, it has formed a brand effect in the shipbuilding industry. In recent years, Guiping City has accelerated the upgrading of the ship repair and construction industry, focusing on building a ship repair and construction industrial system with excellent industrial structure, strong innovation capability, and good quality and efficiency, aiming to create the Xijiang (Guiping) ship repair and construction industrial park, striving to build an industrial park with an annual output value of over 10 billion, constructing 1000 ships annually and repairing and dismantling 400 various ships within five years, adding strong momentum to the high-quality development of Guiping City. The Xijiang (Guiping) ship repair and construction industrial park is divided into two areas: Mengxu and Dawan, with the Mengxu area covering 600 acres and the Dawan area covering 8300 acres. After completion and reaching production capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual industrial output value of 15 billion; constructing 1000 ships annually and repairing and dismantling 400 various ships, forming a development pattern of a full industrial chain specializing in shipbuilding, ship inspection, ship trading, warehousing logistics, material procurement, technology research and development, technology training, and life services.

Currently, Guiping City has 23 registered ship repair and construction enterprises, including 18 shipbuilding enterprises, 11 of which are large-scale enterprises. There are more than 700 ship slips, with over ten thousand people engaged in shipbuilding. Last year, over 400 ships were completed, and from January to November this year, over 300 ships were completed, with more than 400 ships under construction. "Shipbuilding in South China looks to Guiping." The shipbuilding volume in Guiping has accounted for two-thirds of Guangxi, making it the largest ship repair and construction base in South China. Advanced modeling design and excellent product quality have attracted a large number of shipowners from within and outside the region to order new ships, and Guiping's shipbuilding industry is rapidly rising and setting sail.
